RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINE CONTEST 2011
Rube Goldberg Inc., Purdue University and Ferris State University are pleased to announce the following competition changes.
Beginning in 2011, the RGMC High School Nationals will be hosted by Ferris State University, Big Rapids, MI. The 2011 competition will be held on March 19. Purdue University will be hosting the RGMC College Level Nationals on March 26 and has extended a generous invitation to the winning National High School team. Amy Noah, Director of Advancement at the College of Engineering, Purdue University has offered the following invitation: “We invite the winning high school team to join us for several activities throughout the weekend. Specifically, we would like to invite them to the dinner event that happens the night prior to the contest. Theta Tau has done an amazing job of putting this event together and is happy to invite the winning High School team to join us.
At this function, they will have the opportunity to meet with team members, sponsors and administrators from Purdue.
Also, we would like to invite the winning high school team to be featured during the ‘lunch break’ at the contest on Saturday, March 26. This is an opportunity for the high school team to highlight their machine, answer questions and interact with the audience about the High School competition.
We are committed to helping facilitate as much interaction as possible between the College and High School participants during this Contest weekend. Special mention of the winning High School team will be included in our program.”
For 2011, Purdue will be offering some funding for the winning National High School team to attend the College Nationals.
